Bennett Goodman to Join Blackstone’s Board of Directors


New York, February 24, 2015. Blackstone (NYSE:BX) today announced that Bennett Goodman has joined its board of directors. Bennett is a co-founder of GSO Capital Partners, Blackstone’s credit investment platform, which currently manages over $70 billion in various direct lending strategies, leveraged loan vehicles and distressed investment funds. He joined Blackstone in 2008 when it acquired GSO and currently sits on the firm’s Management Committee.

Commenting on the appointment, Stephen A. Schwarzman, Blackstone’s Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder, said, “Bennett heads one of our largest and best performing businesses. His deep knowledge of markets and critical thinking about companies, institutions and economies has been invaluable to the Management Committee as the firm has expanded into new geographies and businesses and set a strategic direction. Mr. Goodman graduated from Lafayette College and the Harvard Business School. He currently sits on the board of Lincoln Center and the Central Park Conservancy. He received Institutional Investor’s 2012 Money Manager of The Year Award and the 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award from Euromoney Magazine for his career achievements in the global capital markets.
