Kinder Morgan is one of the largest pipeline transportation and energy storage companies in North America, with more than 37,000 miles of pipelines and 170 terminals. It transports and stores energy products such as natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, ethanol, coal and carbon dioxide.
Advised Special Committee of the Kinder Morgan Board of Directors with respect to an offer by management and an investor group led primarily by GS Capital Partners and Riverstone Holdings to acquire the company. Total transaction value was $22 billion.
Consistent with the Board’s responsibility to maximize the value of the transaction for shareholders, the offer was raised 7.5% and the transaction successfully completed.
