Daigo Hirai is a Principal in the Real Estate group and is based in Tokyo. Since joining Blackstone in 2010, Mr. Hirai has been involved in evaluating real estate investments and asset management of the MB Asia Real Estate Fund Japan portfolio.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Hirai was a Vice President in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Real Estate Private Equity group based in Tokyo. Prior to that, he worked for Goldman Sachs Realty in asset management across asset classes, including office, residential, retail, hotel and golf courses. Mr. Hirai was also involved in the IPO project of Accordia Golf (TSE: 2131) and various corporate workouts.

Mr. Hirai received a BA in Economics of Business Administration from Keio University and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University as a scholarship student of The Rotary Foundation.
