Edward Slapansky is a Vice President in the Restructuring & Reorganization Advisory group.
Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Slapansky has been a member of multiple deal teams advising a variety of clients in complex transactions including debtor-side reorganizations and debt restructurings, creditors' committee representations, out-of-court workouts, and special situation investments. Mr. Slapansky’s advisory assignments have included the following: Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, The Pacific Lumber Company, Financial Guaranty Insurance Company (FGIC), Finlay Enterprises, Aleris International Inc., Simmons Bedding Company, American Capital Strategies (ACAS), Highland Hospitality, Eagle Food Centers, Inc., Detroit Medical Centers, Ingalls Health System, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital.
Prior to joining Blackstone, he worked as a Manager in the Corporate Advisory Services unit of Huron Consulting Group Inc. where he executed various turnaround, restructuring and corporate finance advisory assignments for distressed retail and healthcare companies.
Mr. Slapansky received an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS degree in Finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
