Ambassador Gérard Errera is a Senior Advisor to The Blackstone Group and Chairman of Blackstone France.  He is also a member of Blackstone’s International Advisory Board and is based in Paris.

Mr. Errera principally focuses on developing business initiatives and advising on transaction opportunities in each of Blackstone’s key businesses in France and in the rest of Continental Europe.

Before he joined Blackstone, Mr. Errera was Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for two years, and, prior to this, he served as French Ambassador to the United Kingdom for five years.  He also served as the French Ambassador to NATO and Director General for Political Affairs.  Before this, Mr. Errera was Director for International Affairs at the French Atomic Energy Commission and Governor for France at the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Mr. Errera graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration.  He is Officier de la Légion d'Honneur, and Officier de l'Ordre National du Mérite, Commander of the Victorian Order (C.V.O.), Officer of the Order of Civil Merit of Spain, and Officer of the Order of the White Rose of Finland.
