Joshua Baumgarten is a Senior Managing Director of Blackstone and a member of BAAM’s Special Situtations Investing Group.

Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Baumgarten has been involved in portfolio management, including overseeing credit investments.  In addition, he has been involved in hedge fund manager evaluation, selection and monitoring.  Mr. Baumgarten serves on the Investment Committee for Blackstone Strategic Opportunity Fund.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Baumgarten worked as a Portfolio Manager in the High Yield group at BlackRock Inc.  Mr. Baumgarten started his career at Jefferies & Co. as an investment banking analyst.  

Mr. Baumgarten received a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
