Before joining GSO Capital in 2007, Mark worked at General Electric for eight years where he was a research analyst at GE Asset Management performing similar responsibilities.   He began his career in GE Capital’s Financial Management Program.  Upon graduation from the program, he worked as an equity analyst for GE Commercial Finance and later became an Assistant Vice President at GE’s Global Sponsor Finance business.

Mr. Hempfling received a BA in Finance, Investment & Banking from the University of Wisconsin.
