Martin Gudgeon is a Senior Managing Director and Head of the European Restructuring & Reorganization Group based in London.
Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Gudgeon’s clients have included representations for debtors, creditor groups and Governments in all major jurisdictions in Europe, including Actavis, BAA, Bulgaria Telecom, Deutsche Annington, Danagas, EMI, Enterprise, Golden Key, Helenic Republic, Jost, Klöckner Pentaplast, Northern Rock, Parex Banka, Punch, Thule, Ukraine Government, Viridian and Wheelabrator.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Gudgeon was the Chief Executive and Head of Restructuring at Close Brothers where he represented clients including: AES Drax, British Energy, EM:TV, Eurotunnel, Equitable Life, Jarvis, Federal Mogul and Rhodia. Prior to that, Mr. Gudgeon was at Hill Samuel, including two years on secondment to Macquarie Bank in Sydney, Australia.
Mr. Gudgeon is a Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Electrical Engineers. Mr. Gudgeon undertook his accountancy training at Price Waterhouse and received his B.Sc. (Hons) in Engineering from Durham University.
