Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Chmelar has worked on a variety of restructuring and corporate finance transactions including CFS, China Development Bank, Jost, Mauser, Nybron, Punch Taverns, Technip, Thule, Vivacom and Wheelabrator.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Chmelar was an Analyst in the European Special Situations Group of Close Brothers Corporate Finance.

Mr. Chmelar received a Masters Degree from HEC Business School in France and studied law at the University of Paris, the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and University College of London.
