Michael Brody is a Senior Advisor to Blackstone's Real Estate Debt Strategies Team. Mr. Brody assists in the asset management of the equity investments of CT Opportunity Partners I, LP. He performed a similar role for CT Investment Management Co. (CTIMCO) prior to its acquisition by Blackstone in December 2012.
Prior to working with CTIMCO, Mr. Brody was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Loeb Partners Realty, LLC, a New York-based commercial real estate company that owns and manages approximately $3 billion of commercial real estate assets throughout the United States. Before joining Loeb, Mr. Brody served as a Managing Director and Head of CMBS Origination for Merrill Lynch & Co. Before Loeb, Mr. Brody was a Managing Director for Nomura Securities in CMBS loan origination, a Vice President of property management for The Mack Companies (the predecessor to Mack-Cali) and a leasing broker for Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr. Brody received a B.A. degree from the College of Arts & Sciences of Cornell University, where he was selected to the Sphinx Head Honorary Society for campus leadership, and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University, where he was selected to the Beta Gamma Sigma Society for academic achievement. Mr. Brody is member of the board of directors of Granite Real Estate, Inc., a Toronto-based company owning a global portfolio of 105 real estate assets with an equity market cap of $1.6 billion.
