Mr. Middleton is a Managing Director in the Tactical Opportunities Group, where he focuses on executing transactions in the industrials and business services verticals. Mr. Middleton currently serves on the Board of Directors of Sustana Group and Trimark USA.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Middleton was at The Carlyle Group, most recently as a Partner and Co-Head of North America for Carlyle Strategic Partners, where he led a number of investments including control, minority, and structured equity transactions across a broad range of industries. He previously served on the Board of Directors of companies spanning a wide variety of sectors, including AFG Holdings, Guitar Center, LA Fitness, Liberty Tire, NORDAM Group, and Prime Clerk, among others. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Middleton was with American Securities and Evercore Partners, and he began his career at Bowles Hollowell Conner.

Mr. Middleton received a BS in mathematics and economics, with a minor in Japanese language, from the University of Virginia.
