John Sharkey is a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group based in New York. Mr. Sharkey has been involved in the execution of Blackstone’s investments in Vivint SmartHome, Vivint Solar, Gates Industrial, TeamHealth, Ascend Learning, Medline, and Ellucian and he currently serves on the board of Ascend Learning. Before joining the Private Equity Group in 2012, Mr. Sharkey was a member of the Restructuring & Reorganization Advisory practice.

Mr. Sharkey received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
