Bernardo Reis Carneiro da Costa Lima is a Managing Director in Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) based in New York. Dr. Costa Lima is involved with the development of quantitative models.

Before joining Blackstone, Dr. Costa Lima worked at Citadel as a Quantitative Researcher with the Global Credit team. Prior to that, he was a Fixed Income Strat with Morgan Stanley, supporting various trading desks, including the e-Rates business, the Emerging Markets Credit Desk and the Structured Credit Desk.

Dr. Costa Lima holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (graduated 1st of his class) from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), a master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario).
