Mark J. Burton is a Senior Managing Director, having joined Strategic Partners in 2014. Mr. Burton oversees the investment activities of Strategic Partners’ Real Estate funds. Mr. Burton sits on Strategic Partners’ Real Estate Investment Committee and is an advisory board member of multiple funds.
Prior to joining Strategic Partners, Mr. Burton was a Managing Director at H/2 Capital Partners, an institutional investment manager focused on commercial real estate credit. While at H/2, he led the sourcing, pricing and execution of the firm’s distressed commercial mortgage opportunities in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Burton served as a member of the Management Committee and Investment Committee for each of H/2’s investment funds. Prior to that, Mr. Burton worked at Goldman Sachs where he was a Vice President in their Special Situations Group, overseeing domestic commercial real estate investing. He also co-managed Goldman’s Real Estate Mezzanine Partners, a fund focused on originating and purchasing commercial real estate, secured mortgages, securities, mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
Mr. Burton received a B.S. with a major in Finance and minor in History from Georgetown University.
