Commenting on the sale, Geraldine McKenna, Executive Vice-President of The Savoy Group, said:

“The Lygon Arms has been part of The Savoy Group for many years. However, we were approached by a number of interested parties and were delighted when Furlong Hotels agreed to its purchase. We wish the management and the employees all the best for the future and we are confident that Furlong Hotels will continue to develop its potential.”

Haydn Fentum, Managing Director of Furlong Hotels, said:

“My family and I are delighted with this acquisition and want to enhance the reputation of The Lygon Arms as one of the finest hotels in the country. We have substantial refurbishment and capital expenditure plans.”
