John-Paul (JP) Munfa is a Senior Managing Director in the Private Equity Group, where he is focused on energy transition and climate solutions investments.

Since joining Blackstone’s private equity business in 2006, Mr. Munfa has been involved in the execution of several of Blackstone’s private equity investments in the energy sector, including Cheniere Energy Partners, Sabre Industries, Kinetik Holdings, Cliff Swallow, the Rover Pipeline, the Grand Prix Pipeline, the Permian Highway Pipeline, Global Offshore Wind, GridLiance, Utility OneSource, Lonestar Generation, and PBF Energy. Mr. Munfa is currently a director of Sabre Industries and Kinetik Holdings.

Prior to focusing on the energy sector, Mr. Munfa was also involved in the execution of Blackstone’s private equity investments across a range of industries, including Apria Healthcare, TRW Automotive, and Seaworld Parks & Entertainment. Prior to joining Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, Mr. Munfa worked in Blackstone’s Restructuring & Reorganization Group from 2004-2006.

Mr. Munfa received an AB in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
