Mike Shang is a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Group in Hong Kong. He is involved in sourcing and executing transactions in Greater China. 

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Shang was a Managing Director and founding member of Rivendell Partners, a mid-market private equity platform.  Prior to Rivendell, he was with Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia and The Carlyle Group in Hong Kong.  Before relocating to Asia, Mr. Shang worked in Morgan Stanley’s Financial Institutions Group in investment banking, as a financial accountant at CCMP’s Global Fund and as an auditor in the insurance group at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York.

Mr. Shang received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan.  He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
